Not too busy on the reading front this month since we’ve been a tad bit busy with some other life-changing events. However, the few books I did read were excellent!! Looking forward to seeing what you’ve been reading in the comments! I’m linking up with Modern Mrs. Darcy today, so if you’re looking for more recommendations, be sure to head on over to her post. Happy reading!
Read this Month
Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly – A novel based on three real women’s lives through War World II. Each of these women were uniquely touched by the horrors of the Holocaust and its aftermath. This was recommended multiple times to me, and although difficult to read in parts — I found it fascinating and intriguing. (4/5)
An Echo in Darkness by Francine Rivers – The Mark of the Lion series has stayed at the top of my list for my favorite series since I read it in college. I just needed the familiarity of the second book (my favorite of the three) this month. This series follows an incredible Jewish girl thrust into the heart of the Roman empire whose faith transforms her and everyone around her. I absolutely adore Hadassah (the main character) in these books, and her life, even though fiction, inspires me every time I reread these. (5/5)
The Magnolia Story by Chip & Joanna Gaines with Mark Dagostino – I listened to this book on audio this month, and I adored it! Read by Chip and Jojo, this is a must-read for not only every Fixer Upper fan, but also for anyone who wants an encouraging story of hard work, perseverance, love, and laughter. This was a treat to listen to, and it made me admire the Gaines even more, which I didn’t think was possible! (5/5)
Currently Reading
This is sad, y’all – but honest. Nothing. I’m currently reading nothing! Sad, but very true. With the move, school, and life in general — it just hasn’t happened! However, I am on spring break this week, so I have high hopes for the weekend 🙂
Stopped Reading
If you’re not reading much, you’re not stopping many books either 🙂
Bought this Month
I bought Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts devotional for some friends — like I mentioned last month – I highly recommend it!
Up Next
I think some holds are ready through the library, so if I can make it before they expire…they are next! I also have a few unfinished reads on my nightstand from the past months.

Just started The Thirteenth Tale which has been on my TBR list for YEARS. So far, it seems promising but only 40 or so pages in.

I really liked the Mark of the Lion series and bought it last year intending to read it again soon, but it has not happened. I need to change that pronto!
