These gluten free sandwich crackers are so good they inspired me to go out on my back porch in freezing weather to photograph them 🙂 They also apparently make me want to have a picnic since I used my always handy picnic basket as a prop.
In all seriousness, though, these are definitely a gluten free product to check out. They come in two different kinds: peanut butter and cheese, and both kinds are delicious. The Lance brand is no stranger to making crackers –you can find their snack packages containing many different varieties of crackers in your grocery store, but most of them were gluten-filled until now.
That’s why when I saw these late last year, I couldn’t wait to try them.
The nutrition stats aren’t too shabby for a packaged product, nor is the ingredient list.
Because I am medically required to eat gluten free, snacks like these are SO helpful when I’m out and about or at work and find myself hungry but lacking gluten free options. You can pick these up for around $4 a box at your local grocery store (I’ve seen them at Wal-mart, Target, and Lowe’s).
The Verdict? I wouldn’t recommend these as a full meal substitute by any means — each cracker is very small with not enough protein for that, not to mention the box is way too expensive for a non-filling meal — however, these make a perfect snack to pack for lunch, in your car for emergency snack attacks, or for your next picnic as the weather warms up 🙂
And don’t we all hope picnic weather comes back sooner rather than later?!
